How to make a prize claim: Florida Lottery

In-Person Claim

During regular Lottery business hours, players who have won prizes worth at least $600 may claim them in person by walking into Lottery Headquarters or any district office. You can schedule a time to claim your prize by clicking here if you need a particular accommodation or have special needs.

All prizes with a yearly payment option and those for $1 million or more can be claimed at Lottery Headquarters by walk-in or appointment.

Prizes for games without an annual payment option ranging from $600 to $999,999 can be redeemed in person at any Lottery district office by walk-in or appointment.

Additionally, winning tickets with an annual payment option and tickets for $1 million or more can be presented to a Lottery district office, which will then send the claim to Lottery Headquarters for processing and payment.

The identities of Lottery winners claiming awards of $250,000 or more will, starting on May 25, 2022, be temporarily excluded from public disclosure for 90 days after the date the prize is claimed (by F.S. 24.1051(3)(a)), notwithstanding any waiver by the winner.

By Drop-Off Claim

Players can make a protected drop-off claim for $600 or more wins inside any Florida Lottery district office.

Any winning tickets presented to a Lottery district office valued at $1 million or more or has an annual payment option will be sent to Lottery Headquarters for processing and payment.

The identities of Lottery winners claiming awards of $250,000 or more will, starting on May 25, 2022, be temporarily excluded from public disclosure for 90 days after the date the prize is claimed (by F.S. 24.1051(3)(a)), notwithstanding any waiver by the winner.

Place the winning ticket(s), a Winner Claim Form, and the required paperwork in the “Required Documentation” section in an email and deliver it to the Florida Lottery headquarters or any district office to claim your prize via drop-off.

Florida Lottery How To Claim Your Prize 2022

Tickets dropped off at district offices, or Florida Lottery headquarters are processed within 10 to 14 days. Your prize cheque will be mailed to the address on your claim form once your claim has been processed.

The Florida Lottery winning ticket must be sent on or before the 30th day following the claim deadline if a retailer has verified a Draw game ticket, but the reward has not yet been paid. The envelope and contents must be delivered on or before the claim deadline specified under the “Ticket Expiration” section below if a store has not validated the ticket.

The reward will be forfeited if the Lottery does not receive all necessary paperwork by the relevant extended claim deadline. All MEGA MILLIONS,  CASH4LIFE, POWERBALL, and Fast PlayTM prizes awarded in Florida must be collected there.

The envelope, its contents, and the winning ticket for Scratch-Off or Fast Play tickets that have been verified by a retailer must be turned in on or before the 90th day following the game’s official conclusion.

The reward will be forfeited if the Lottery does not receive all necessary paperwork by the relevant extended claim deadline.

Deadline for Ticket Expiration Florida Lottery

Prizes from Florida Lottery Draw games must be claimed 180 days after the relevant draw date. Prizes from draw games featuring single-payment cash options must be claimed within 60 days following the relevant draw date to choose the cash option.

Prizes from the Scratch-Off and Fast Play games offered by the Florida Lottery must be redeemed within 60 days of the game’s official conclusion date.
